Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent sees no reason why his client would consider leaving Napoli in the summer, but has still left the door open on a future transfer.
Lavezzi, who scored twice in the midweek Champions League win over Chelsea, has attracted speculation on his future throughout the season.
The fact the player has a buyout clause in his contract has meant instances such as his girlfriend’s declarations on Twitter and his own words in an Argentine interview have resulted in transfer links away from Naples.
“President De Laurentiis wants Lavezzi at Napoli, but we cannot talk about the future because there are so many conditions to evaluate,” Alejandro Mazzoni told Radio Crc this week in trying to clarify things.
“Pocho loves Napoli. It makes no sense to speak today about the market.
“As well as this is Napoli’s good relationship with Lavezzi. I do not think the President has an issue with the buyout clause, but, if any problem should arise then the club and the player will take the right decisions.
“[Walter Mazzarri] has played an important role in the maturation of Lavezzi. My client is of an age that allows him to feel comfortable, this is an excellent time both as a player and a man.
“The harmony of the players is the secret weapon at Napoli - the Azzurri has important players in attack and the Coach is good at handling the dressing room.”
