Reports that Gigi Buffon will sign a new deal at Juventus until 2016 have surprised the goalkeeper’s agent.
There is growing speculation that the two parties will soon sit down to extend the contract of the 34-year-old given that his present agreement expires in 2013.
“A lot of things are being written and taken for granted,” Silvano Martina told Tutto Juve in an interview.
“There has been no meeting and not even a conversation about a possible renewal. We are at a delicate point of the season and Buffon is thinking about football.
“There is plenty of time to discuss an extension seeing as there is still a year and a half to go on his existing deal.”
Buffon joined Juventus from Parma in 2001 for a massive £32m and he stayed loyal to the club following their demotion to Serie B in 2006.
