Roma’s Fabio Borini isn’t thinking about Euro 2012 just yet despite breaking into the Italian national squad.
The 20-year-old was yesterday promoted from the Under-21 set-up into the Giro Azzurro for the midweek friendly against America.
However, he’s refusing to get carried away despite the fact that the European Championship is now just months away.
“He’s not thinking about Euro 2012,” his agent Marco De Marchi told TMW. “He’s thinking of the present which is America and then the derby against Lazio.”
Borini was being tipped for inclusion given his impressive form and the injury problems affecting Cesare Prandelli’s attackers.
“Reaching the international side is an important point for any footballer,” De Marchi continued. “Fabio is just 20 and he’s living through an extraordinary moment.
“He has a really strong character which means he’s always balanced through the good and the bad times.
“He won’t stop here. His hard work and his dedication will take him far.”
