Antonio Di Natale has revealed Udinese’s ambitions for the rest of the season – to finish third and reach the Europa League Final.
The Bianconeri are renowned for playing down their hopes for campaigns, often underlining the importance of survival, but the veteran striker has unveiled their secret.
“We have a winning Coach in Francesco Guidolin,” he told Tuttosport. “As a result, we can target third place and a spot in the Final of the Europa League.”
The Bianconeri, who finished fourth last term, are currently in the same League position – but only two points shy of Lazio.
“It will be a fight with Lazio until the last day of the campaign for the last Champions League spot,” continued the Italian international.
“Udine is a special place for me, I love this club and this city and I think the fans feel the same way about me.”
Di Natale has been Serie A’s top scorer over the last two seasons, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined him at the top of the charts at the weekend with a hat-trick. Both have 18 strikes this term.
“Winning the Capocannoniere charts for the third season running would be like winning the Golden Ball for me,” added the 34-year-old.
“However, Ibra has everything. He is a complete player and he demonstrated as much at Palermo.”
