Genoa are hopeful that the returning Alberto Gilardino can make a difference against Juventus at the weekend.
The Italian international has been out of action for the last month with injury, but he should be at the disposal of boss Pasquale Marino for Sunday’s game.
“Gilardino will be important for us,” stated midfielder Kevin Constant. “He’s always dangerous in the penalty area.
“He attracts the attention of defenders which allows his teammates more freedom.”
Rossoblu chief Enrico Preziosi mirrored Constant’s views ahead of the Marassi encounter.
“The return of Gilardino will be key for us,” the toy tycoon noted. “He could give us a big helping hand against Juventus.”
Having drawn 2-2 in Turin earlier this season, Preziosi insists that he wouldn’t settle for a repeat result.
“I wouldn’t sign for a draw,” he insisted. “We want to win. I’m disappointed with how the season has gone, but we are working on improving.”
Preziosi also expects the Old Lady to fall short in the Scudetto race. “Milan will win the championship,” he declared.
