Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out a swoop for Alex Del Piero, but again opened the door for Alexandre Pato.
Del Piero, Ancelotti’s former captain at Juventus, has been linked with a move to Paris once his contract expires at the end of the season.
“I know Del Piero’s qualities really well, but I won’t be bringing him to PSG,” Ancelotti told La Stampa in an interview on Friday.
“Paris Saint-Germain are a club who will need to invest in the future.”
The capital side have been busy strengthening their squad since last summer and they attempted to sign Pato from Milan in January.
“For now, the Pato option has collapsed,” the former Chelsea tactician continued. “However, in June, we will evaluate numerous opportunities and he’ll be one.”
Milan and PSG did agree on a fee for the Brazilian international, only for the South American to then commit his future to the Rossoneri.
