Luis Enrique feels Roma finally had “the right attitude and focus throughout the 90 minutes” for their victory in Palermo.
The Giallorossi put the derby defeat behind them with Fabio Borini’s decisive goal at the Stadio Barbera.
“I liked that we had the right attitude and focus throughout the 90 minutes against a strong side who play well on home turf,” said the Coach.
“The goal was a good move that gives us three points to keep on believing. The defence is not just four players, but rather the whole team who did what needed to be done.
“Is Daniele De Rossi like Javier Mascherano? In a way, as he played against Juventus as a centre-back. When there are players like Daniele who have different qualities, you can play them anywhere, but I believe his best position remains central midfield.”
Roma dominated for the first hour, but risked throwing away the points as Palermo peppered their area with chances towards the end.
“This is one of the most difficult arenas in Serie A and we knew it would be difficult here. The statistics might suggest we fall back in the second half, but each game has to be seen individually. We should’ve finished off the result earlier.”
