Siena’s hopes for survival have taken a massive knock with the news that Emanuele Calaio will be out for the rest of the season.
The striker picked up an injury in the win against Cesena on Sunday and tests have confirmed that he has fractured his left fibula.
The former Napoli player had scored 11 goals in Serie A so far this season for the Tuscan minnows.
He is the second most prolific Italian scorer in the Division this term – along with Palermo’s Fabrizio Miccoli – behind Udinese’s Antonio Di Natale who has netted 18 times.
