Beppe Bergomi firmly believes that Inter need a player like his old teammate Lothar Matthäus this season.
Matthäus proved instrumental when Inter won the Scudetto in 1989 under Giovanni Trapattoni.
Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bergomi was asked to reveal which player from Inter's past could help the current side perform better.
"Lothar Matthäus would do very well," he said.
"He is the best foreigner that I played ever played with.
"The German would be ideal in a team that lives for acceleration and changes of rhythm like this Inter."
