Ezequiel Lavezzi concedes the Champions League exit to Chelsea is “difficult to swallow, but we must be proud” of what Napoli achieved.
The Partenopei were confident of reaching the quarter-finals after a 3-1 first leg victory, but were beaten in extra time 5-4 on aggregate.
“Unfortunately, our Champions League ends here,” wrote Pocho on his official website.
“It is difficult to swallow a defeat like this, especially after the great game at the San Paolo, but we must be proud of what we achieved in Europe.
“We played on a par with world class teams like Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Chelsea. It was enormously satisfying.
“Now we will concentrate on Serie A and the Coppa Italia... we can rediscover our smiles soon.”
