Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini prepares to face Lecce and admits he “made a mistake” sacking Delio Rossi for Serse Cosmi.
The trigger-happy patron has a long history of firing and recalling tacticians to the Sicilian bench and this term is already on his third Coach.
Now that Cosmi returns to the Stadio Barbera at the helm of Lecce, it gives Zamparini an opportunity to look back over his decisions.
“I have said many times that I made a mistake in firing Rossi, who was tied to the team by a very strong bond,” Zamparini told Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno.
“Cosmi’s adventure with Palermo did not start under the brightest of stars and everyone knows how it ended.”
The Coach was sacked after just one month in charge so that Rossi could be recalled.
There could be further changes, as current boss Bortolo Mutti is thought to be at risk after three consecutive defeats.
“There’s no point denying that this is the least satisfying campaign since I have been at Palermo. We need a shake-up and I demand an improvement in these final weeks.”
