Stefano Pioli welcomes his old club Chievo in a relegation tussle and promises “this can be the best end to a Bologna season for years.”
The Rossoblu were in dire straits when he took over from Pierpaolo Bisoli on October 4, but are now climbing the table and fresh from a 3-1 victory at Lazio.
“If we are achieving these results with these performances, then it is because we took it one day at a time, one week at a time, one game at a time,” said Pioli.
“We did well to stay on our feet after beating Inter at San Siro and we’ll do the same following the Lazio victory. We’ve all the motivation and qualities needed, both on an individual and team level, so this can be the best end to a Bologna season for years.
“Bologna are hungry and aware this is an important match. We will be focused and determined. Chievo caused us many problems in the first meeting and we expect the same.”
