The time has arrived for Milan to underline their ability outside of the Serie A environment, says Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Rossoneri will host the Spanish giants in the first leg of the last eight of the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
After winning the Italian title last season and maintaining a four-point advantage over Juventus at the weekend, Ibra is now targeting European glory.
“We are ready for Barcelona,” he told Aftonbladet. “If we want to win international trophies then we have to start winning these types of games.”
Barcelona’s biggest goal threat is Lionel Messi, but Ibra, given his past as a player at the Nou Camp, respects the European champions as a unit.
“We have to stop Barcelona, not Messi, in the same way that Barca will have to stop Milan,” he continued.
Ibrahimovic is in good shape going into the game after netting a brace in the 2-1 win over Roma at the weekend.
“The game against the Catalans will be completely different to the match against Roma…”
