Alessandro Nesta is being tipped to start for Milan against Barcelona in the absence of Thiago Silva.
The latter will miss this week’s first leg tie and the return after being sidelined for the next three weeks with injury.
Nesta, 36, hasn’t been a regular with the Rossoneri so far this season because of form and his own fitness issues.
The former Lazio symbol has played in just 11 Serie A games, one Coppa Italia tie and five Champions League matches.
He’s expected to partner Philippe Mexes in a back-four which will may contain Daniele Bonera and Gianluca Zambrotta.
