Mauro Zarate “still loves Lazio and would be happy to stay” if his Inter loan spell is not renewed, said his agent.
The striker had numerous run-ins with Coach Edy Reja and joined the Nerazzurri in the final hours of the summer transfer market.
However, he has struggled to make an impact during Inter’s campaign and is unlikely to remain. He even sent an enigmatic tweet at the weekend, stating “soon all of this will be over!”
Now a return to Lazio is on the cards, although it’s not clear whether the club want him back on a permanent basis.
“At this moment it is difficult to say what Mauro’s future will be,” said agent and brother Sergio Zarate on Radio Manà Manà.
“Mauro still loves Lazio and would be happy to stay in Rome. In case Inter do not take up their option, he’d he pleased to continue his career at Lazio.”
