Chievo Coach Domenico Di Carlo concedes it’s “very strange to be fighting for safety against Fiorentina.”
The Flying Donkeys are accustomed to battling for mid-table positions, but going into today’s game find themselves three points clear of the Viola.
“It is very strange to be fighting for safety against Fiorentina. Nobody expected them to be so close to the relegation zone at this stage of the season,” said Di Carlo.
“It’s terribly odd to consider it a relegation dogfight. We happen to be coming to Florence during an important moment for them, so I’m sure they’ll try to burst forward and score straight away.
“Wingers like Marco Marchionni and Juan Manuel Vargas bring so much quality to Delio Rossi’s system. Last week’s draw with Genoa put Fiorentina back on track.”
