Edy Reja believes January represents a month of truth for Lazio because it will reveal whether they can dare to dream of winning the title.
Lazio currently lie joint second with Napoli in Serie A, just three points adrift of League leaders Milan with five months of the season remaining.
Interviewed in La Gazzetta dello Sport, Reja said: "Now comes the difficult bit.
"From January 6 to February 6 we have a month full of work to do.
"There is also the derby in the Coppa Italia, which we care about a lot.
"If we were to come out of this 30 day period well, then we could really start to dream."
Asked to reveal his objectives, Reja replied: "Let's say the Champions League, which would be like a Scudetto.
"For the League title I fear there are teams more equipped than us.
"Milan are the favourites. Cassano is the icing on the cake. I am sure that in that environment he'll toe the line and do great things. But also keep an eye on Inter."
