Fernando Gago wants to prolong his stay at Italian club Roma, but concedes that Real Madrid will have the final say.
The almost 26-year-old joined the Giallorossi on loan in August on the last day of the summer market.
“Roma has a special attraction, even if I have already played for some big clubs,” he stated in the capital earlier today.
“I just want to finish the season in the best possible way and then, at the end of the campaign, we’ll make some conclusions.
“I would like to stay at Roma, but it doesn’t just depend on me – it will be up to the club and also Real Madrid.”
Gago has scored one goal in 23 League appearances as the Giallorossi try to snatch the last remaining spot in the Champions League.
“Playing in that competition would be important, but we have to take things one game at a time,” the South American continued.
“We have been making mistakes in defence, but that is only normal because you need time to assimilate such a complex way of playing football.”
Roma are sixth, three points behind third-placed Lazio.
