Vincenzo Iaquinta will be sidelined for around three weeks, Italian giants Juventus have confirmed this evening.
The Azzurri international limped out of training yesterday with an injury which caused some concern at Vinovo.
The former Udinese ace underwent a number of medical tests today which highlighted a left thigh strain problem.
Juventus have estimated that the player will thus be sidelined for around 20 days in total if all goes well in his rehabilitation.
Boss Gigi Del Neri will now have to consider his striking options ahead of Thursday's game against Parma.
Amauri could be a possible replacement after he recovered from his pre-Christmas injury and played a part in today's 5-0 friendly win over Lucento.
"I don't know if he'll play against Parma," stated Del Neri. "I hope so as Iaquinta is missing, but we'll see over the next few days.
"Amauri has not completely recovered, let's say that he is on the road to recovery," he continued.
"He played for 65 minutes against an amateur team and he needs time to get back to his best, but he is working on it."
