Amauri’s goal for Fiorentina against Milan on Saturday was his first in Serie A since April 23, 2011.
The big Brazilian had not netted in the Division since grabbing a brace against Udinese just under a year ago.
His winner at San Siro came after 848 minutes in a Viola shirt following his January move from Italian giants Juventus.
His strike actually allowed his former club to regain top spot in the Division given that Milan’s loss coincided with Juve’s 2-0 win at Palermo.
Fiorentina and Palermo – another former club of the Italian international – will oddly enough meet in Serie A on Wednesday.
