Finishing third is still the target at Inter, striker Diego Milito has declared following the 2-1 win over Siena.
The Nerazzurri are seventh in the table, but only six points behind third-placed Lazio and the last remaining qualification spot for next season’s European Cup.
“Hopefully our experience can help us,” the Argentine noted. “We’ll keep battling until the end of the season to reach a target that has now become an objective.”
Inter went a goal down to their Tuscan opponents on Wednesday before the international striker responded with a brace.
“Tonight's win was a victory for the squad, something we achieved as a team,” he added. “We played very well.
“We knew we were up against some quick players and we gave it everything. We're all delighted.
“I always try to give my best for the team and fortunately this is a good moment for me, but the main thing is always to fight for Inter.”
The former Genoa striker has now bagged 20 goals this season to draw level with Antonio Di Natale of Udinese in the scoring charts.
Milan’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to lead the way thanks to his 23 strikes.
