Republic of Ireland boss Giovanni Trapattoni believes that Juventus and Alessandro Del Piero can come to some agreement over his future.
Del Piero is only contracted to the Turin giants until the end of the season and the outfit announced in October that they would part company in June.
However, after some recent crucial goals, there are calls for the Serie A giants to make a U-turn and offer the captain a renewal.
“I don’t see why his relationship with Juventus can’t continue if the two parties clear a few things up,” Trap, who gave Del Piero his Juventus debut, told Radio Sportiva.
“It is only right that an eventual future together is in the interest of both player and club, but you have to consider what Del Piero has done and continues to do for the team and the fans.”
