Kevin-Price Boateng's injury is not serious, but Gianluca Zambrotta requires surgery for a meniscus ligament tear.
Milan released a statement this evening confirming the results of the latest medical tests.
Boateng had left the Dubai training camp early amid fears he was suffering from athletic pubalgia, also known as a sports hernia.
However, tests confirmed an inflammation of the tendons in the upper thigh muscle and he will continue regular treatment.
There was far worse news for teammate Zambrotta, who “suffered a lesion to the medial meniscus ligament and will undergo keyhole surgery in the next few days.”
