Aurelio De Laurentiis is delighted to sign Marek Hamsik to an extended contract at Napoli, a player he believes is one of the best in Europe.
The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a new contract with the Vesuviani this week, seeing an extra year added to its duration and the player handed a reported €600,000 pay rise.
Club President De Laurentiis believes that the agreement, in place since late last year, is value for money too.
“With Marek we had already reached a verbal agreement last October, now we have formalised this,” he told reporters on Friday.
“Hamsik knows perfectly well that our project has a strong foundation and great prospects. Marek is one of the strongest players in Europe.”
