Stefano Colantuono says tonight’s Catania-Atalanta match is “a battle of the true revelations” in Serie A this season.
The Sicilians are on 43 points, while were it not for the penalty imposed due to a betting scandal the Orobici would be on 46.
“This will be a battle of the true revelations of this season,” said the Atalanta Coach.
“If we consider what was expected of them, Atalanta and Catania have done better than anyone else. It will be a difficult clash and I don’t expect to meet an opponent that is already relaxed. In fact, they’ll want to make up for the defeat to Lecce.
“I know the environment well. It’ll be a tough at Catania, because the fans really push their side onwards. As if that weren’t enough, the Etnei have strikers of real quality.”
All the games this weekend will have a minute’s silence to remember Piermario Morosini, the Udinese-owned midfielder who collapsed and died during Pescara-Livorno last Saturday. He grew up in the Atalanta youth academy and his hometown was Bergamo.
“He grew up in our Zigonia camp and is a son of Atalanta. We will certainly think of him, but everybody will, just look at the emotion at his funeral.”
