Genoa President Enrico Preziosi says he is ready to walk away from the club following Sunday’s events at the Stadio Ferraris.
The Rossoblu’s game against Siena was halted less than 10 minutes into the second half when fans interrupted the proceedings.
A small group of Ultras, as well as getting the game temporarily suspended, then asked for and were given the shirts of the Genoa players as they were deemed not worthy to wear the jersey .
Preziosi, who has made three coaching changes this season, has understandably been criticised by supporters this term.
And, after this latest event, the toy tycoon says he is prepared to walk away from the Marassi outfit at the end of the season.
“I’ll continue to do my job until the conclusion of the campaign, then I’ll decide what to do in the future,” he stated.
“If I am not wanted here then it might be the best decision to take a backwards step.”
Preziosi took control of Genoa in 2003 following their relegation to Serie C.
