Lazio have been dealt a further injury blow in their hunt for Champions League qualification as Brazilian playmaker Hernanes’ season is ruled as over.
The player, who in recent weeks had been struggling for form, was substituted at half time during Sunday’s draw with Lecce, complaining of soreness in his left thigh.
Tests undergone today have revealed that the 26-year-old sustained a first-to-second degree strain, an injury that will likely sideline him for anything from four to six weeks, ending his season with the Aquile.
The Brazilian is the latest player Edy Reja looks to have lost for the campaign, with Cristian Brocchi ruled out for the remainder just last week and Miroslav Klose struggling to make it back in time for the mid-May season end.
