Following on from the player’s agent’s assertions, CSKA Moscow have denied that there is any truth linking Keisuke Honda with Lazio again.
The Japanese international was close to agreeing a deal to join the Aquile in the winter transfer market, but for a dispute over the fee that ended negotiations at a late hour.
Reports this morning suggested that the Italians have renewed their pursuit, with the suggestion that initial contact may have already been made between parties. However, following on from Honda’s agent cooling speculation, CSKA have denied knowledge of any negotiations.
“Indeed we deny this categorically. Everything you have read in the papers today, they are nothing more than journalistic inventions,” CSKA spokesman Michael Sanadze told Lalaziosiamonoi.it.
“There is no truth in this story and we have no idea how it has been created. In winter there had been contact with Lazio, but we didn’t close on anything.
“There was an offer made, of which I don’t know the amount, but we refused it. Since then, there has been no official contact with the Biancocelesti.
“The valuation we would give the player is €100m…joking aside I don’t know the value of the player, but the fact remains that he is still under contract with us.”
