Bortolo Mutti praised Palermo’s reaction to going a goal down in the derby, but Vincenzo Montella wants Catania to “enjoy their football” a little less.
The Sicilian derby ended 1-1 after Fabrizio Miccoli replied to a Nicola Legrottaglie opener.
“We had a good reaction, as Catania did better in the first half, while we impressed more after the break,” said Palermo boss Mutti.
“I am happy with the way the lads responded, so the draw was the right result.”
Montella was less content with the share of the spoils at the Stadio Barbera.
“In several circumstances the side showed maturity. So far we have achieved something extraordinary, but now we are missing the fire of a hitman and perhaps we enjoy our football a little too much,” said the Catania Coach.
“I do have fun watching my team play, but we should have more hunger to legitimise what we have built by finishing off chances. Now I want us to deserve eighth place.”
