Lazio have confirmed that they will soon hold talks with Inter about the future of Mauro Zarate.
The 25-year-old joined the Nerazzurri last summer on loan, with the option to be signed outright set at €16m.
“As things currently stand, that fee is not negotiable,” Biancocelesti sporting director Igli Tare told Radio Mana Mana.
“However, there will soon be a meeting with Inter to get a better understanding of his future. We’ll see.”
The Argentine left the capital outfit given his uneasy relationship with boss Edy Reja.
Zarate has had a tough campaign at San Siro, although things have improved under present tactician Andrea Stramaccioni.
Zarate has scored three goals in 30 games for the Nerazzurri, two of those have come in 21 Serie A matches.
