Vincenzo Montella has declared his only focus is finishing the season well with Catania, not on doing other clubs a favour or on determining his future.
Montella has pulled in the plaudits this season for his work with the Elefanti and as a result has been linked with a number of clubs for next season. One of those is Lazio, who he could help qualify for the Champions League next weekend by beating Udinese.
A defeat for the Zebrette away to Montella’s Catania, coupled with a win for the Aquile, could see the Romans take the final Champions League qualification place.
However, Montella has insisted his only determination for the season is to end it well with the Rossazzurri.
“I’m hearing so much about this game [with Udinese], but we will try to do well only for Catania and to try to end a great season with a win. All other discussions on Lazio and Inter do not count for me,” he told reporters on Monday.
“I’m definitely happy with what we have done in Catania. Compliments and esteemed expressions are always nice because it means that the work done is appreciated.
“However, it is too early to talk about my future. I must respect first of all the club and directors with whom there is a great relationship. At the moment I cannot say anymore.”
