Talks have already taken place which could see Diego Forlan leave Inter for Atletico Mineiro at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Milan-based club last summer, but he’s had a problematic first year in Italian football.
“There has already been a meeting,” agent Edgar Goulart is quoted as saying. “Forlan is unhappy, he wants to play more and recover his career.”
The Uruguayan, captured from Atletico Madrid as a Samuel Eto’o replacement, has scored just twice in 20 games for the Beneamata this season.
“Inter can make his exit easy,” the representative added. “We are at an advanced stage in talks and I think he could end up at Atletico.”
The Brazilian club have been heavily linked with the player over the last month.
