Antonio Di Natale is celebrating “a great achievement” as Udinese reached the Champions League preliminary round for the second year running.
The Friulani needed only a point to be sure of third place, but earned a 2-0 victory away to Catania [12] this evening with Di Natale and Diego Fabbrini on target.
“It was a great performance and a splendid result. We conquered the Champions League for the second time in a row, overtaking teams like Napoli and Inter. We are ahead of them in the table because we deserved it and did better.
“It is a great achievement. Now I want to celebrate with my fans and then think about the rest later.”
Di Natale has been named in Cesare Prandelli’s 32-man long list for Euro 2012.
