Marco Cassetti has admitted that his Roma career may have reached a conclusion. “It won’t be up to me now.”
The defender will be out of contract next month and it is unlikely that he’ll get a renewal after featuring in just seven Serie A games this term.
“My deal expires in June,” he stated after the 3-2 win over Cesena. “I’m disappointed because I’ve had a few injury problems this season.
“We’ll have to see what happens now, all I know is that I’m not in charge of the situation.”
The right-back joined the Giallorossi from Lecce in the summer of 2006 and he’ll have one memory at the front of his mind should he quit the club.
“The goal that I scored in the derby against Lazio was the most emotional moment of my six years here,” concluded the 34-year-old.
