A total of eight players have been suspended for their next scheduled appearance in Serie A, following misconduct on the last day of the campaign.
Most notably, Alberto Gilardino has been handed a one-game ban and a €2,000 fine for simulation during Genoa’s 2-0 win over Palermo. The striker was booked for the incident midway through the first half of the Grifone’s game, but will now miss the team’s first game of the 2012-13 campaign.
Elsewhere, Moris Carrozzieri is suspended for a game for his ejection for serious foul play during Lecce’s match at Chievo.
Fiorentina’s Alessio Cerci, Cagliari’s Daniele Conti, Siena’s Mattia Destro and Claudio Terzi, Parma’s Daniele Galloppa and Palermo’s Carlos Labrin have all also been handed a one-game ban for actions from the final round of fixtures in the Serie A season.
