Fabio Quagliarella has gone under the knife and Juventus confirmed he won't be back for five to six months.
There were reports the player would be able to make a quick recovery, but the surgical procedure showed the extent of the injury.
Quagliarella had an operation at the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The player “will stay in the clinic for three to four days, then return to Turin to begin the rehabilitation programme.
“The striker should be back on the field in five to six months.”
