Stefano Pioli has revealed that he is on the verge of signing a new contract with Bologna. “I won’t be leaving for Lazio.”
The tactician yesterday rubbished the Biancocelesti link [12], even before Edy Reja announced that he was leaving [13] the capital club.
“I’ve read the reports, but I’ve had no contact with them or any other clubs,” the 46-year-old told Tele Radio Stereo.
“I can exclude the possibility that I will be leaving Bologna. My staff and I want to give a bit of consistency to the work we have done this year.
“It’s normal that there are rumours, but I am happy at Bologna who have put me in the best situation to work.
“In the next few days I will meet with the club directors to extend my contract.”
The former Juventus player, hired and then sacked by Palermo in pre-season, is currently tied to the Stadio Dall’Ara outfit until June 2014.
