A new Genoa may be starting to take shape after Pietro Lo Monaco and Gigi De Canio reportedly held talks.
Lo Monaco could become the Grifone’s new director general after quitting Catania this summer, while De Canio is hoping to be confirmed as Coach.
Rossoblu chief Enrico Preziosi has admitted his desire to take a step back and let someone else run the club on a daily basis given their difficulties this term.
That man could be Lo Monaco who, according to Sky Sport Italia, has spoken to De Canio during a meeting in Milan.
De Canio was appointed late into the season after the 4-1 home loss to Siena which saw Alberto Malesani replaced for the second time this term.
Genoa ensured survival on the last day of the campaign. It was believed that Preziosi was considering the appointment of former Juventus Coach Gigi Del Neri.
