Zdenek Zeman has won Serie B with Pescara, but dropped a big hint he’s heading to Roma. “I’d love to continue with this group, but I know that I can’t.”
Pescara beat Nocerina 1-0 in stoppages while Torino were held at Albinoleffe in the final round of the Serie B season, so the Delfini finished joint top and won the title thanks to a superior head-to-head record.
“I am very happy with what the lads have done this season. I’d love to continue with this group, but I know that I can’t,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“Half of them are Under-21, but have grown. Half are mature, but have been rejuvenated. I thank the fans for never protesting even when there were some negative results.”
“Would I only leave Pescara for Roma? Today I want to celebrate winning the tournament, then we’ll talk about the future.
“I owe a great deal to these people, the directors and the players. I’ll talk to the President in a few days.
“According to the journalists I am on five or six different benches, so I’ll have to decide which one I like the best.”
