Christian Abbiati will reportedly ask for a contract extension at Milan before the 2012-13 campaign kicks off.
The Rossoneri have a policy of only discussing the contracts of players over the age of 30 in the final few months of their agreements.
However, according to speculation on Thursday, the 34-year-old goalkeeper is keen to sort out his future before next May.
The former Torino, Juventus and Ateltico Madrid man is presently tied to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit until June 2013.
Abbiati, 34, is still the first choice with the Diavolo ahead of 2006 World Cup winner Marco Amelia. Abbiati played in 31 League games this term and nine Champions League ties.
