Cesena have confirmed that they would be willing to sell Marco Parolo and have invited Napoli in particular to make a bid.
Parolo has impressed in the past two seasons with the Bianconeri as a versatile and energetic midfielder and despite his club’s struggles and subsequent relegation last season, he has also attracted a lot of interest.
Confirming that this remains so, the Emilia-Romagna outfit’s sporting director has this time suggested that Napoli lead the way in any negotiations.
“Parolo to Napoli? I hope so, he is a very strong player, last year we received many requests for him,” began Maurizio Marin on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“However, we wanted peace so as to attempt to help Cesena achieve League survival in peace, even if eventually we were relegated.
“Parolo is a great player, he’s been called up by the national team and Napoli’s set-up would certainly be ideal for his characteristics.
“There is ongoing work for many players, including Parolo, who have had important requests come in. We must take time to complete certain transactions. In Serie B we would like to create a strong backbone, having players that can exploit a certain perspective.
“Have I head from Napoli about him? Parolo was close to the Azzurri in January, so too Inter.”
