Marco Verratti has reiterated he is grateful to next Roma Coach Zdenek Zeman, but “I am staying at Pescara for next season.”
The 20-year-old talent was in Cesare Prandelli’s long-list for Euro 2012 and has now returned to the Under-21 Italy squad.
“I am not moving. I already talked it over with President Sebastiani,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I am staying at Pescara for next season and will get my first taste of Serie A with this club, then we’ll see.”
Coach Zeman took the Delfini to promotion, but is on the verge of taking over at Roma , leading to speculation Verratti would also go to the Olimpico.
“I owe a great deal to Zeman and hope he has a wonderful campaign. Maybe one day we’ll meet up again.”
