Mario Balotelli only took part in light training on Tuesday in Italy’s final session before leaving for Euro 2012.
The Manchester City player didn’t feature in the full work out this morning for precautionary reasons after picking up a quad problem on Monday.
Juventus stopper Andrea Barzagli missed the session completely after he suffered a calf strain. He’ll have tests on Friday to ascertain whether or not he’ll be included in the squad.
Without Barzagli, Italy boss Cesare Prandelli again tried Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi centrally in a three-man defence. He was flanked by Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.
Ignazio Abate and Cristiano Maggio were tested as right-sided wing-backs in the 3-5-2, with Federico Balzaretti and Emanuele Giaccherini used on the opposite flank.
The striking combinations tested were Antonio Cassano and Sebastian Giovinco, then Antonio Di Natale and Fabio Borini.
Italy will leave for Poland at 15.30 local time today and they will then have another training session this evening at the Pilduski stadium at 19.00.
