David Pizarro has finally returned to Roma after staying in Chile to receive treatment for a knee problem over Christmas.
The midfield playmaker sparked a degree of controversy earlier this month by taking the decision without the club's consent not to return to training camp, but Roma later sent a physiotherapist out to Santiago to help his progress.
Il Corriere dello Sport understands Pizarro got back to Italy this morning and has already visited the club's training ground for tests.
It remains to be seen whether he will be fined for returning late.
Pizarro had lost his place in Roma's starting line up last month leading to speculation that his relationship with Claudio Ranieri has deteriorated.
