Thiago Motta doubts Spain and Croatia will make “an agreement” to knock Italy out of Euro 2012.
“It’s true we wasted a great chance today, as we put Croatia under pressure and didn’t finish off the match. At the end of the day a draw is fair and we have to focus on the next match,” he said of the 1-1 draw.
If Spain beat Ireland this evening, then both La Roja and Croatia will qualify for the quarter-finals with a 2-2 draw.
It is exactly the same situation that saw the Azzurri knocked out in Euro 2004.
“I’m sure Spain will try to beat Croatia whatever happens. We are professionals and I doubt there would be an agreement at the Euros.”
