Udinese boss Francesco Guidolin is confident that Antonio Di Natale can make an impact for Italy in tonight’s game against the Republic of Ireland.
The Azzurri will need a win to keep their hopes of qualification alive and Di Natale is expected to start in a 4-3-1-2 system.
“Thanks to the assists of both Andrea Pirlo and Antonio Cassano, I’m sure that Di Natale will have chances,” Guidolin told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I’m very optimistic about the changes that boss Cesare Prandelli will make for tonight’s game . I think Italy will be able to go through.”
Di Natale, scorer against Spain, has been used in the first two games as a second-half substitute for Mario Balotelli.
He will take the Manchester City striker’s place from the start this evening given that he’s struggling with a knee problem.
