Udinese patron Giampaolo Pozzo says the squad has “already been drawn up for next season and we don’t need to sell.”
The Friulani are in the Champions League preliminary round for the second year running and have brought Luis Muriel back from his loan spell at Lecce.
“The team has already been drawn up for next season, the project is in place and over the next few days more will become clear,” Pozzo told the official club website.
“Obviously we are keeping some things to ourselves right now for tactical reasons, but the team will be competitive despite the fact every summer some players leave for big clubs. It is difficult to keep them when the top sides make an offer.”
“This club does not need to sell, as we need to conserve our squad to achieve important sporting objectives.
“We have the preliminary round of the Champions League coming up and wanted to maintain the same squad, but renewal is part of our work. We will do that with players who have the potential to be like those who left.”
