Amauri has revealed that it took him just 10 minutes to decide on a return to former club Parma.
The 32-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Gialloblu last night after a six-month loan spell in 2011, which saw him net seven goals in 11 Serie A games.
“This is a return home for me,” stated the man who was available on a free transfer after his contract at Fiorentina expired. “I’m really happy.
“This transfer took just 10 minutes and no more,” he continued. “I was very happy here and I want to start again from where I left off.”
The former Palermo and Juventus forward was wanted by numerous clubs, but the Stadio Tardini outfit were desperate for his signature.
“He wore our shirt for six months and, in that time, showed how important that was for him,” Parma director general Pietro Leonardi noted.
“He left us because he wanted to repair his relationship with Juventus, but that wasn’t possible.
“We met with him a couple of days ago and he underlined that he wanted to re-join us, despite the many offers he had from abroad.
“We tried to sign him last summer, but there were not the conditions in place to do so. It was different now though and we are happy that we can embrace him again.”
