Reports are suggesting that Inter have basically done a deal for Palermo’s Matias Silvestre, but the Nerazzurri insist talks are continuing.
Whispers are circulating that the Beneamata are ready to pay €8.5m for the centre-back who has requested a transfer.
The Nerazzurri have also offered the Argentine a four-year deal worth a basic salary of €2m. That would rise if certain bonus clauses are activated.
However, speaking with Sky Sport Italia, Inter technical director Marco Branca has underlined that nothing has been finalised.
“There have been no forward or backward steps,” Branca stated. “We are at that classic stage of the transfer market where everyone talks a bit with everyone else…”
Silvestre is expected to arrive to replace Juventus-bound Lucio after he rescinded his contract with the San Siro club last Friday.
