Giuseppe Iachini has admitted his frustration at having been replaced at Sampdoria by Ciro Ferrara .
Iachini led Doria back into Serie A after stepping in for the axed Gianluca Atzori in November 2011, but he’s now been shown the door by the Marassi outfit.
“I’m disappointed, but I know that I did well in taking Sampdoria back to the Italian top flight,” he told Sport Italia.
“Meritocracy is not always the winner in this game, but I now need to look to the future and not the past.”
The 48-year-old is looking for a new job, but he knows the chances of finding a side at this stage of pre-season will be problematic.
“I haven’t had any contact with any other clubs, also because almost all of the benches out there have a Coach on them already,” he added.
Iachini has taken charge of Venezia, Cesena, Vicenza, Piacenza, Chievo and Brescia in his career so far.
